Welcome to the new Stanbio Laboratory and our 2012 Product Catalog! Why the “new” Stanbio? Because effective June 17, 2011, Stanbio Laboratory became part of the EKF Diagnostics Group– a family of international companies focused on the rapidly developing near-patient care and diabetes management markets. With this historic change, the worldwide presence of Stanbio has taken a huge leap forward. Expanded human and financial resources, new distribution partners, innovative products and technologies are now supported by an even deeper management team of extraordinarily experienced and talented individuals. Our parent company, EKF Diagnostics Holdings plc, is publically traded on the London Stock Exchange and is providing the foundation for our tremendous growth opportunities globally.
As if the celebrated news regarding EKF was not enough, we also introduced new products last year including our Uri-Trak™ 120 urine analyzer, with compatible Uri-Chek™ 10SG urinalysis reagent strips, and the αlphα® line of environmentally friendly pregnancy tests. In late May we launched our new and greatly enhanced website that promises to be a much better tool and resource for our customers and partners alike. Finally, in 2011Stanbio Laboratory sales reached an all-time high – not once, but twice. May’s record sales month was exciting, only to be exceeded again in August – further evidence of the performance of the entire Stanbio team and the commitment and dedication of our distribution partners throughout the world.
As we enter our 52nd year, with all the possibilities and promise it holds for us, please take a few minutes to look through our catalog or visit our website to learn more about Stanbio Laboratory. A quick look on page 31 will provide a brief introduction to just some of the new products that are now available through the EKF Group, with more to come in the very near future.
While these milestones are exciting, I am perhaps most gratified by the continued support and trust exhibited by our customers, many of whom have long histories with Stanbio Laboratory. The loyalty you have demonstrated to our company and the friendships we’ve developed and maintained have been truly rewarding.
Finally, on a more personal note, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to all of the people who are or have been part of the Stanbio family. The years since joining the company in January 1988, having the great fortune to acquire it in 1995, and now becoming part of EKF in 2011, have been the most enjoyable and gratifying of my life. To be a part of such a vibrant company and to be associated with so many tremendously wonderful people for the past 23½ years have exceeded my wildest dreams. I look forward to being part of the newest chapter of our long and storied history as we embark on this new phase of our journey together.
